Bought by our client 4 years ago from the Barbieri brothers in Piacenza Italy, with 2.400 km from new being test kilometers. As a "prototipo" the car did not participate in those races. It even comes with Italian registration certificate. With 350 bhp on tap it can be an extremely fast track day car with a very interesting history. Since March 2008 our client has raced the car in total more than 1.000 km in Holland, at Zandvoort, as a member of the Dutch National Racing Team (DNRT), in the Scudera Italiano and also as a member of the Historical Automobile Ren Club (HARC). Nice well maintained example of the rare short chassis SS version. Rare 6 C 2500 Super Sport Cabriolet by Carrozzeria Pininfarina. Mille Miglia eligible! We are pleased to offer this lovely and rare 6C 2500 short chassis Super Sport Carrozzeria Pinin Farina cabriolet. Manufactured in February 1948 and recorded first sold in July 1951 to Melbourne Australia! It comes with an extensive ownership history in Australia. On file is an article from 1959 where the car was advertised in an Australian newspaper as 'one of the best cars ever is in Maitland'. It could be bought for 1175 pounds (who knows what amount of dollars that was please inform us!), and part description was 'the cars runs quietly at low speeds but develops that highly tuned howl when prompted to go really fast'. In 1993 the car was imported in the USA and was in the Blackhawk Collection for some time. The car was then bought by a Canadian collector who owned the car for 10 years and maintained her well. He recalled driving the car for 800 km from Toronto to Ottowa and back. The car came to Holland in 2006. Finished in the lovely colour of blue chiaro with black older leather interior and matching dark blue hood. The car has matching numbers and has been well maintained. Recently it was recomissioned by 6C specialists to be enjoyed. It has had a major service, has had a good quality repaint in Italy, taking the car mostly to bare metal and refitting the original tail lights. All instruments were rebuilt and wiring has been professionally replaced by Franco Rodighiero. All invoices of work done are on file. Well known in the 6C registry and many thanks to Mr P. Marshall who formidably send us the ownership history. Apart from 2 small damages on the front wings, the car runs and drives well and is ready to be enjoyed. A lovely car! Dutch registered (EEC).
