Rotary rally Bussum for Charity 2007
For the 4th time this lovely day for charity was organised, and we had the luck to be invited by one of our friends also sponsor. The money raised this day would go to the Medical University of Groningen for research on children's medication. We wanted to take the little Giulietta Spider but after rain and heavy clouds decided to have a day out with the Alfa 1900 SS Touring. Some 140 cars arrived on early saturday morning with many friends and friendly faces around.
Cars ranging from some 30 pre war cars Bentley's Rolls Royce's etc. quite a few 50's and 60's Italian and English sportscars to more modern machinery like a Ferrari BB and a Lamborghini Jalpa (when was the last time you saw one of those on the road?!)
We had a coffee at the Spycker premises and a lunch in the forrest at Museum het Aardhuis in Hoog Soeren. Lovely roads.
The day finished at the lovely Castle De Schaffelaar in Barneveld. We finished 30th from 140 (just a few places in front of other friends...!)and were content, even more when we heard 26.000 Euro was raised for the project! Hopefully we will be there next year too!
