Modena Cento Ore rally
In May 2007 we participated in a long time favourite rally! We decided to go with our Alfa 1600 GTA 1965 as the Italian organisers like Italian cars! The rally consists of 5 days with 3 racing circuits, many hillclimbs and much attention to Italian gastronomy. You can enter in the FIA racing class or regularity which we did. Many drivers have a complete team with them, taking care of transport and mechanics along the way. Some even with 4 mechanics stripping the cars in the evening/night!
This Italian 911 2.7 Carrera RS was one of the fastest cars on the tracks !
A few Dutch cars entered next to us, a superb and very fast ! Lamborghini 400 GT (which the Italians hardly ever see, as they kept saying 'che bella!') The GTA awaiting its technical inspection. On friday night we had drinks and dinner at the castle one of our friends, and long term Alfa Romeo collector, Righini.
My good friend and navigator Maarten taking his job seriously at one of the many hillclimbs. We finished well (12th overall in regularity) and just 1 place in front of our good friends Maarten and Saskia's Lamborghini 400 GT!
The GTA and Lamborghini made it safely back to Modena on tuesday. On Wednesday we left Modena and headed for Brescia to view the Mille Miglia from our lakeshore hotel....
In the soon to be realised new webpage setup we will be able to place more and bigger pictures and we will place a few more of this great event!
